Join us October 21st for a special Fauna Anniversary Event featuring a presentation by Zoocheck founder, Rob Laidlaw. He will be speaking on: Nature in a Box: Reflections on Animal Captivity and Why We Should Care. This presentation is a thought-provoking, illustrated review exploring the myths and realities of wildlife captivity, the plight of captive animals in Canada and how we can all contribute to creating a better, more humane world for animals. The presentation will be given in English.

Rob Laidlaw is a Chartered Biologist, award-winning author of nine children’s books and the founder and Executive Director of the international wildlife protection charity, Zoocheck. His work over the years has taken him from Canada’s north to tropical Asia and has involved almost every kind of advocacy initiative from lobbying governments to rescuing animals. He has spoken to tens of thousands of people of all ages across Canada and overseas. In 2014, Laidlaw received the Frederic A. McGrand Award for substantial contributions to animal welfare in Canada.

20 Years of Providing Care and Conservation at Fauna Foundation

There will be lots of great Fauna merchandise available for purchase, as well as raffle tickets for prizes! There will also be a silent auction with proceeds supporting Fauna Foundation.

The event will be held at the Fauna Foundation Conservation Area Barn. Food will be available for purchase on site. Please dress accordingly as the barn is not heated and we will be spending some time outdoors. The event will take place rain or shine. Attendees must be 13 years or over.
